Telemedicine Service
The National Telemedicine
Service of MoHFW, GoI India is the world’s largest telemedicine implementation
in the primary healthcare. With over 100 million patients served at 115,225
Health & Wellness Centres (as spokes) through 15,755 hubs and over 1150
online OPDs populated with 228,968 medical specialists and super-specialists
trained in telemedicine.
The
cloud-based eSanjeevani platform is implemented in two modes: eSanjeevaniAB-HWC
(a provider-to-provider telemedicine platform): an assisted telemedicine system
that connects patients through health workers and medical officers in Health
& Wellness Centres to the doctors and specialists in hubs established in
secondary/tertiary level health facilities or medical colleges. This variant is
based on a Hub-and-Spoke model.
eSanjeevaniOPD (a patient to provider telemedicine platform): it empowers
citizens to access outpatient services in the confines of their homes through
smartphones of laptops etc.
With phenomenal adoption amongst patients and telemedicine practitioners and its mammoth network extending to all parts of the country including the islands in Lakshadweep and Andamans and peaks in Ladakh, eSanjeevani is seen as one of the crown jewels of Digital India.
SehatOPD
Services e-Health Assistance and Tele-consultation (SeHAT) the Tri-services Teleconsultation Service of the MoD has been designed for all entitled personnel and families of the three Services. It aims to provide healthcare services to patients in their homes. Safe and structured video-based clinical consultations between a doctor in a hospital and a patient within the confines of his or her home have been enabled.

The Government of India is dedicated to cement India as # 1 hub for Medical and Wellness Tourism globally, inviting the world to “Heal in India”with the mandate of ‘Seva’ coupled with ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ on mission mode. Under the “Heal in India” initiative, which aims to promote Medical Value Travel in the country, MoHFW, India has developed the Medical Value Travel Digital Portal for ease of foreign patients coming to India for treatment. Medical Value Travel may be defined as activities related to travel and hosting a foreign tourist who stays at least one night at the destination region for the purpose of maintaining, improving or restoring health through medical intervention.

To set up a telemedicine
platform for enabling telediagnosis using state of the art diagnostic devices
based on IoT. To facilitate capturing and archival of health information after
health screening of public. The pilot project would demonstrate the efficacy of
cutting-edge technologies targeting an underprivileged population especially
women and children living in remote areas of 3 districts (Varanasi, Gorakhpur
in UP and Kamjong in Manipur) with quality medical care and reaching out to a
total targeted population of ~60,000 in these districts for collection of health data.
