The Work Based Learning (WBL) Programme is a unique initiative by Govt. of India that aims to provide employability skills to those eligible.

Those belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Schedule Tribes (ST), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Women are eligible for this programme.

Candidates who have passed B.Tech. M.Sc. and MCA within last 2 years can apply. Final year engineering students too can apply for the WBL Programme.

WBL Programme is Government of India initiative for the upliftment of Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Women and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in the country.

Work Based Learning (WBL) Programme is offered in person. The enrolled members are required to work with experts at the Centre of the period of 6 months.

You can apply for the offerings under WBLP against the advertisement at the WBL portal i.e. www.wblp.in or by logging in at AICTE Portal i.e. https://internship.aicte-india.org/ernet.php

A candidate can apply for as many as centres under WBL Programme in single session. However, if selected, candidate can accept offer only at one of the Centres.

Selection process includes application screening, verification of the educational qualifications and the category mentioned followed by an interview.

A stipend of Rs 10,000 per month will be payable upon.

Stipend will be released to candidate after every month directly in their bank account after the attendance scrutiny by the supervisor of the centre.

Level-1 WBL is of 6-month duration and this can be extended to (Level-02) for another 6- months provided candidate performs well during Level-01.

After completion of the Programme, the PMU (C-DAC, Mohali) and IO (Centre of Internship) will provide placement assistance to the WBL Candidate.

Candidates who successfully complete Level-01 under WBL Programme and are recommended by the Tech-MEC committee of the Centre are considered for Level-02.

In WBL Programme after selection you will be deployed (as per your choice) at one of the 81 Centres of Seven (7) Organizations of MeitY i.e. CERT-IN, C-DAC, NIELIT, STQC, CMET, ERNET and SAMEER.

No, you cannot avail the benefit of WBLP more than once for Level 1.

In contrast to conventional internships, the incumbents in WBLP get a chance to gain rich work experience working on live State level initiatives of State Governments or National Level initiatives of Government of India under WBL Programme.

WBL Intern will adhere to the working hours, rules and regulations of the Centre they are depute at.

A WBL Intern can avail up to 4 days of casual leaves and 6 days of medical leave in the period of 6 months of the Programme. The supervisor must be duly informed prior taking any leave.

The certificate will be issued only if the candidates attend the institute for 75% of the stipulated 6 months' time.

Monthly stipend would only be paid to candidates having at-least 75% (or more) attendance per month and recommendation for payment by Supervisor after satisfactorily reviewing the assigned tasks.

Some of the key technology domains that can be leveraged under the Programme are: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Quantum Computing, Augmented Reality & Virtual Reality (AR/VR), Blockchain, Wireless Networks (5G, WiFi 6 etc.), Smart Mobility (Including Vehicular and Drone Technology), Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security and Cyber Forensics, Big Data Analytics, Digital Preservation, Cloud Computing, 3D Printing, Silicon Photonics, Flexible Electronics, Emerging Memory/ Storage Technologies, Machine vision (MV), Software-Defined Radio, CPU Design, Testing/QA Methodology, Standards/Certification in Emerging Technologies, Rechargeable Battery Technology, e-Waste Management, Smart City, Health Informatics, Language Computing, Robotics, Edge Computing, Brain Computing etc.

Yes, you will receive a completion certificate at the end of your Level 1 and Level 2 tenure at MeitY's center.

A Coordinator is assigned to each center, The candidate under WBL Programme will communicate with the Reporting officer.

Under WBLP the candidate will gain practical experience and exposure in Information Technology, Electronics and related areas. At the end of Programme the candidate will enhance technical knowledge expansion, real-time working skills, problem-solving skills, and interpersonal skills.

C-DAC, Mohali is responsible towards efficiently manage, implement and monitor the overall Programme across multiple institutions.

WBLP is implemented at 81 centers across the nation which constitute of 52 Host cities. All 81 centers are of 7 MeitY's institutes- namely C-DAC, CERT-In, CMET, ERNET, NIELIT, SAMEER and STQC.

Once you apply there is no way to check the status of your application. Once your application has been screened in, you will receive interview/online test call by member of screening committee.

The Interview process for the selection of candidate will be online mode. The candidate will be intimated about the schedule by the member of the screening committee.

No, there is no job experience required for WBL Programme.

There is no registration or selection fees for candidate to work under WBLP.
